Office party games that actually work

A 45-minute game plan for office parties and team building: ice breaker polls, team trivia, a prize draw. Works in person and on a projector.

Updated

A 45-minute plan

  1. Warm up with polls (10 min). Low-stakes questions everyone has an opinion on: best office snack, worst meeting time, who'd survive a zombie apocalypse.
  2. Make teams (2 min). Use the team generator so departments mix.
  3. Team trivia (20 min). One phone per team. Write a round about your company in the question editor: it's always the crowd favourite.
  4. Prize draw (10 min). Finish on the Spin Wheel so everyone stays to the end.

Host tips

  • Test the projector and sound 15 minutes early.
  • Put the room code in the meeting chat for anyone who can't see the QR.
  • Keep questions inclusive. Avoid trivia only one team could know.
  • How to host Trivia Party

Run a Kahoot-style trivia night: up to 60 players, 20-second questions, speed points, streak bonuses and a double-points final question.

  • How to run live polls and voting

Ask up to 30 questions with 2โ€“8 options each. Up to 200 voters, live or hidden results, timers and reactions. Use a ready-made deck or write your own.

  • How to run a Spin Wheel giveaway

Run a fair lucky draw: up to 120 entrants and 20 prizes, guests enter by QR code, one prize per person, redraws for no-shows.
